BREATHING RE-EDUCATION

The way we breathe influences the functioning of our airways, blood circulation and oxygen release to the cells. Common conditions such as, asthma, rhinitis, hay fever, sinusitis, snoring, sleep apnea, hyperactivity and anxiety can be significantly helped by applying the Buteyko Method.

The method consists of:

  • Breathing light, low and slow. Measuring your Control Pause.

  • Exercises to decongest the nose, switch to nose breathing and reset the breathing centre in the brain, towards more functional breathing patterns.

  • Lifestyle changes including sleep, physical exercise and diet.

About Dr Buteyko

The Buteyko method was discovered by Dr Konstantin Buteyko in the 1950s.  He observed that there was a strong correlation between health and breathing patterns in his patients.

With the simple hypothesis that retraining breathing patterns could improve health, he developed a research program and discovered that by teaching his patients to breathe less (light, low and slow through the nose), he could dramatically reverse their symptoms.

This process is now known as The Buteyko Method and has helped thousands of people globally to improve their breathing and overall wellbeing.
